Gagan Singh

GAGAN SINGH is an award winning Music Producer and Soundtrack Composer. Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, he began playing Indian Classical Tabla at the tender age of 3. He then went on to study Orchestral music as well as Contemporary musical styles such as R&B, Pop, Neo-Soul and Electronic music, indulging deeply into the craft of music production at the University of Toronto. 

He began his career as a multi-instrumentalist; well-versed in performing and recording an array of Keyboard instruments such as the Piano, Synthesizers, Harmonium, Rhodes, Wurlitzer, MIDI Keyboards, as well as an extensive array of Percussion instruments such as; the Drum Set, Timpani, Tabla, Dhol, Djembe, Congas and Drum Machines.

He has worked on the music for several Canadian Productions including the Multi-Award Winning Feature Film “Drone” Starring Sean Bean, as well as ‘The Use of Deadly Force’, Starring Elvis Stojko nominated for Best Canadian Short Film. He also won the Best Original Score award for the short film “Undone” Produced by Foster Films Canada. In 2020, he won Best Soundtrack at the New York International Film Awards for the Kyra Zagorsky film “An International Girl”.

Gagan has also produced music for several renowned Bollywood Artists as well, including; Salim-Sulaiman (Emmy Award Winning Music Directors), Shweta Pandit, Sreeram Chandra (Winner of Indian Idol 5), Vipul Mehta (Winner of Indian Idol 6) and Jonita Gandhi. He has also Produced music with several Canadian, American and British acts including: Rodney Jerkins (Beyonce, Justin Bieber), Anjali World, Jully Black, Kesh K.

Singh has produced music for Television Networks as well, working closely with large brands and producing music for networks such as Bell Media, CBC, CBC Radio Canada, HGTV, BBC One, BBC Asian Network, TVO Kids, Corus & Nelvana Animation to name a few.

Gagan relishes in the opportunity to inspire aspiring musicians and the youth of today at events and institutions across Canada and internationally; and is constantly invited back to his alma mater, the University of Toronto, as a guest speaker. He has also been highlighted as a TEDx keynote presenter at the Ontario Science Centre in Canada. In 2018, he was appointed as Officer on the Board of Directors of the Screen Composers Guild of Canada.

Gagan’s unique skills set him apart from many due to his uncanny ability to blend Western Classical and Contemporary elements with Eastern Classical and Contemporary elements. He is able to combine the rich and tasteful musical traditions of the past, with the digital sounds and trends of the future. All of that combined with a keen ear and a knack for developing new talent is his recipe for success.
